Brief: Video Needed for Crowdfunding Campaign
We were asked to help with a new crowdfunding campaign, which was to be launched on Indiegogo. The campaign was for the launch of a new marketing tool, one which helps small businesses market themselves on an equal footing and without the high costs usually associated with Google.
We knew from the outset that the client was keen to have something different from the usual crowdfunding video. We had to make sure we had an idea that was not only different but could still incorporate the key elements needed when creating a crowdfunding video.
We researched a variety of ideas for Dipsta. The one we all agreed on, was the idea of creating a parallel universe. One modern day without Dipsta and one in the future where we all use the Dipsta App. This involved creating a short film showing these two universes, a graphical how to use the app section as well as a word from the creator.
However, we had to ensure we didn’t create an epic movie as this is something that could have easily happened. By creating and agreeing on a storyboard beforehand it meant that we were able to shoot exactly what we needed and produce a film that met all of Indiegogo’s criteria. The campaign raised £18k within its first two weeks and at the time of writing is well on track to meeting its goal.
