App Of The Week: Be My Eyes

App Of The Week: Be My Eyes

Be my eyes is an innovative app that allows blind people to get help with everyday tasks.

Be my eyes is a great app that allows blind people to get help from sighted people around the world. It works on both android and apple products it is also free which allows for a greater amount of volunteers/visually impaired people to get help.

The app works by allowing the visually impaired person to video call the volunteers and ask them for help with everyday tasks. These can make a big difference to the everyday lifestyle of a visually impaired. The user interface was designed to be simple to help for accessibility to the app so that more people can use it without issues.

Be my eyes was originally thought of by a man called Hans Jørgen Wiberg aged 50, he started losing his sight when he was 25 and wanted to make the life of blind people easier. He stated that “It is flexible, takes only a few minutes to help and the app is, therefore, a good opportunity for the busy, modern individual with the energy to help others.”

I would recommend signing up to be a volunteer as it only takes a few minutes and will only notify you if there is a visually impaired person that is needing help. This app is different from our other apps of the week apps as it is made to help other people rather than made to make a profit. If you would like to sign up to become a volunteer and find out more you can click on the original site: Be my eyes.
